A photo exhibition
If you had to pick one object that recalls home to you, what would that be? This is the leading question of three public events—Collection Days—which Lapsus and Codici organised in Northern Italy within the project Moj Dom. During the Collection Days, Lapsus and Codici listened to personal stories from people who had to migrate during the Yugoslav Wars in the Nineties, those who hosted them in Italy once they arrived, and those who served as volunteers in the refugee camps. Each object brings with it a memory. By sharing individual memories, communities have the power to unearth, put together and preserve pieces of their collective History.
The audiovisual project “Moj Dom: Portraits and Objects of Home” is part of this perspective. It is a catalogue of diptychs composed of video portraits and still-life photos of objects representing the sense of home for the people met during the project. The diptychs were used as mirrors between the subject and the object, evoking their indissoluble bond.
